A grown up Palms

I was definitely biased. Television had poisoned me to believe that this hotel would have nothing but college boys on Spring Break and celebrities acting crazy. But I wanted something different this trip to Vegas and off the strip. I figured I would spend my days at the spa and hide out in my room if needed. But luckily my worries were unnecessary. The Palms Resorts have a new property, Palms Place, which not only leaves all the images of the original two Palms properties behind but it is the perfect example of a boutique hotel.
If you arrive in the main Palms lobby as we did you have to cross the casino and take the skybridge over to Palms Place. These few minutes not only transplant you to your hotel but to another world entirely of muted colors, no noise from casino gamblers, chic restaurants and a quiet ambience. I think I am going to like it here.

The Palms Place rooms offer modern rooms with kitchenettes including a microwave, small fridge, flatware and seating for two. A king size bed and pull out sofa are your only sleeping options which make it less than ideal for a group of friends but perfect for a couple or single traveler. But if you are staying multiple nights you can switch off for the bed because what it lacks in two beds it makes up for in other amenities. From the rainfall shower, two huge flatscreen televisions (yes I said two), and amazing view of the Las Vegas strip, Palms Place is a perfect retreat.
But don’t get too comfortable in your room and forget to enjoy the other great benefits of this new boutique hotel. Drift Spa offers great services and is larger than the spa in the main Palms though pricier. There is also a pool and several restaurants and lounges.

Simon restaurant and lounge overlooks the pool and offers amazing food. For brunch we had tacos that we truly recommend. We also had an omelet that was great though not a signature dish.

If you are looking for someplace new in Vegas and want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of casino and themed hotels then Palms Place may be the answer. I will definitely be back.
