Roscoe’s House Keeps on Cooking

It’s like putting the best part of a Sunday morning breakfast and a Sunday afternoon picnic together on one plate. The last time I was in LA at Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles, I was a pescetarian, and let me tell you that fried fish and waffles just don’t taste so great together.  But chicken, well that’s just downright delicious and I couldn’t wait to taste theirs.

Trying to beat the Sunday church crowd, I treated my family to brunch at the Roscoe’s in West Hollywood around 12.30pm. No reservations are accepted, but they do have seats, so we waited outside, in a half-standing, half-seated line for at least 20 minutes.  We all should have been doing jumping jacks and push-ups to preempt the calorie attack we were in for.

Inside, the restaurant was cozy, the music was pumping, and people were having a good time. The waiter took a little longer than expected.  He actually skipped us and took another table’s order before ours. It could have been a race thing, but we didn’t let it bother us. We were too focused on the food.

The menu is small, but straight to the point…Chicken, chicken, waffles, and more chicken. There’s no beef and no pork. They assume that everyone is there for the same thing, and mostly they are, except for my brother, who was on a diet for a film. He wanted eggs & bacon, but settled for chicken sausage instead.
The chicken is delicious, savory and really crispy. You can order a ¼ or ½ chicken, select pieces with waffles, or from several combination platters. There are even chicken omelets. The waffles are large and thin, but fluffy. I enjoyed every bite and was glad I had ordered two waffles rather than one. Little did I know that was all I’d be eating for the next 8 hours as I danced the afternoon away at a patio party.

Judging by the empty plates, my parents definitely enjoyed the chicken & waffles as much as I did. One note of caution, don’t come for the bacon & eggs, or the biscuits. Roscoe’s does two things extremely well; their name says it all and that’s about all you need to know.  (www.roscoeschickenandwaffles.com)

OMG did you or the kids die!?!? I mean really how can you think that is ok to eat? Is fluoride that toxic and calific to the pineal and distrupting your melanin? Perhaps the steroids gmo’s and gorwth hormones they are injecting in meat which is corn fed instead of grass (lacks nutrients and just has fat) to keep up with demand and to keep food cheap? I mean really I dont give a damn about your health (which if you keep eating this if you dont die first you will have a heart attack, stroke, high blood, and many other things). but if you want to be enlightened youtube “Foods that kill” its a 6 video series. also “modern foods are not what you think” which is a 2 video part.

As for what’s wrong on that plate I will tell you exactly. The chicken (with skin or without) has to much fat and cholesterol (not to mention protein) AND is also to acidic (acid reflux disease is a meateaters disease ONLY vegans and vegetarians never suffer nor do they suffer from compacted bowel movements. they have one for each meal each day up to 3 if 3 meals not one a week or 2 weeks like meateaters). its in the meat itself not just skin. that fat thats on top of chicke nnoodle soup is not half of it. Also the chemicals injected in these animals are what is causing many cancers and tumors because it isn’t natural. That waffle is enriched and processed. It has no nutrients or bran or nothing. IT will just turn into fat also. The butter on top is straight fat and cholesterol (all cow products are meant to turn cals from 60 pounds into 600 pounds.) The syrup will cause diabetes, leeching of nutrients from your nerves, alzheimers, and a host of other things i could go on. It’s because its a drug (drug by definition is a concentrated substance). high fructose corn syrup (which that is), maple, even honey all cause those things. honey is slower but you have the fastest on your plate twice, which is the drink. The drink is pure diabetes and the same as the syrup doubled. The noodles in the mac is procesed refined bleached white flour. It’s when they remove the bran and everything nutritious and leave just the leftover crap and add water. When they add sugar they call it cookies, when they add salt they call it crackers, they dry it and make macaroni, tacos, tortillas, other stuff and its mixed with other things. Also note it contains pesticides, rat hair, bug pieces, and so on from the field. It turns to straight fat also and causes complications also. The cheese is also cow’s fat which is more cholesterol and fat. Everything on that plate is pure fat and/or a drug concentrate. There is not a single healthy thing that could benefit you. This is why americans are all so sick making doctors rich and ahve problems. No need to feel sorry they just do it. But again it may be the fluoride in the toothpaste and water, aluminum in the deodorant, chemicals in the food (i bet there was over 30 known steroids growth hormones pesticides & additives in the food combined on top of what I did post). Hope you enjoyed it though. Maybe the body in your case craves fat instead of nutrients. You are what you eat.

also the reason meat is corn fed is to fatten them quickly to make it to market. They aren’t meant to eat corn but grass, but they would be smaller and take longer to get to weight if they would. It’s all about money you should know
